This piece is a tribute to the king of our garden Bernard the magpie. I have sketched him many times. He is a fierce protector of his realm when he needs to be, I always say hello when I see him. He is always there, even if I cannot see him I hear him, a constant reminder that nature rules and we are lucky to be a part of his world. Created in pen and metallic acrylics, I love seeing the blue banded bees in the magnolia's and watching ants doing what ants do. The ecosystem feels balanced and so they all become part of this story. A moment in time where Bernard is forever the king of our garden.
